Callie
Callie is the daughter of Hardman's Smilin' Jake and Southwind Blaze. Jake was our first Llewellin, and he turned out to be more dog than we could provide for. We traded Jake to a more experienced dog handler, in exchange for pick of the litter from his first litter. Jake developed into a big running dog that spent some time working horseback trials. We waited several years for him to sire his first litter, and true to his word, we were given pick of the litter. Callie was worth the wait!
A natural point, good nose, easy temperament, and fantastic stamina made Callie a dream to hunt over. She provided us with several very good litters, and was spayed at the age of 5. Her pups have gone on to be guide dogs, personal hunting companions, and field trial dogs. They have hunted pheasant, grouse, woodcock, and of course quail.
Callie retired last year at the age of 12. She now has run of the house and lives a life of luxury.
We kept one of her pups, Annie, who is a favorite with our family members.
